This is the second film for Kajal under the direction of Krishnavamsi, first being Chandamamawith which she received a much needed break.Initially Richa Gangopadhyay was approached for the role. However, Kajal Agarwal is said to be finalized as Richa could not allocate her dates. Nallamalupu Bujji will produce the movie and Kalyani Malik will score the music. Mogudu is touted as a romantic action entertainer.
